Elesa Joseph is thrilled to serve as your CT FBLA President for the 2024-2025 fiscal year! With three years of experience as her local chapter’s Vice President and having earned 1st place at states in Introduction to FBLA, Future Business Leader, and Chapter Report, she is ready to take on the role of State President. Also, she has had the privilege of furthering her involvement in FBLA by attending NLC 2022, SLC 2024 and NLC 2024.
As a senior at Newington High School, Elesa has been active in her Student Office for the past two years as the Class of 2025 Secretary. Due to her passion for policy and current events, Elesa created her own Current Affairs Club, which she has led as President for the past two years. This past school year she has joined her school’s Student P.A.N.E.L where she works with other students to better the school community.
Outside of school, Elesa enjoys being creative through makeup and dance. Elesa loves working with children and volunteers as a Youth Sunday School Leader. She is also involved in a Nicotine and Marijuana Research Internship and works at her local community center. Additionally, Elesa has gained valuable technical experience from working at a local Law Firm, and hopes to bring those skills to the table as State President. Elesa’s passion for FBLA drives her commitment to uphold the core values of our organization. She aims to be a supportive leader who works with all of Connecticut to foster impactful change. Elesa is so excited for this opportunity and for the upcoming FBLA year!
Mihika Joshi, a junior at South Windsor High School, has been elected Connecticut State Vice President for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. A proven leader with a diverse skill set, Mihika has made significant contributions to FBLA at both the local and state levels.
As Connecticut State Council of Secretary in 2023-2024, Mihika played a pivotal role in organizing the annual Spring and Fall Leadership Conferences. Simultaneously, she excelled as Chapter Treasurer for South Windsor FBLA, spearheading fundraising efforts, overseeing the financial committee, and leading the chapter to record-breaking fundraising success and national SBE recognition.
Mihika’s exceptional leadership has been acknowledged with numerous honors, including the state Who’s Who award, BAA Leader distinction, and first place in the Introduction to FBLA competitive event at the 2024 SLC. Beyond FBLA, she demonstrates her commitment to service leadership through her self-founded nonprofit, Home of the Brave, as well as her role as secretary of the South Windsor Advisory Committee for the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. She has also attained the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award.
Mihika is eager to invite fresh perspectives into CT FBLA and foster a collaborative, leadership-driven environment that extends beyond the organization.
Mohamad Alhaddad is one of the Vice Presidents of Connecticut FBLA for the 2024-2025 term, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for business and leadership. Their journey with FBLA began in 2021 when they co-founded the FBLA chapter at ESUMS and where they have served as Vice President since its inception. This role has allowed Mohamad to shape the chapter's growth and foster a dynamic environment for their peers.
Throughout their tenure, Mohamad has demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill, earning notable achievements in FBLA competitions. He has qualified for the National Leadership Conference (NLC) twice and competed at this prestigious event on both occasions (2023, 2024). Mohamad has also excelled in state-level competitions, Attending SLC 2023, and 2024 securing 1st place in E-Business and 2nd place in Public Speaking in the Connecticut chapter.
As Mohamad approaches his senior year, they are enthusiastic about their future plans to study cardiology in college. Their interest in the medical field reflects a commitment to making a positive impact on people’s lives. Outside of their academic and FBLA pursuits, Mohamad enjoys spending time with friends, exploring their love for cars, and pursuing their passion for boxing. This multifaceted involvement not only enriches their life but also contributes to his well-rounded character.
Looking ahead, Mohamad is eager to continue contributing to the growth and success of Connecticut FBLA, with a strong vision for an exciting and impactful year. His combination of leadership experience, competitive success, and personal passions sets them up to make a significant difference in their role and beyond
Olivia Nowak is serving as your State Secretary for the 2024-25 FBLA season. She’s a senior at Farmington High School. Olivia joined FBLA sophomore year in the 2022-23 FBLA season, and has been an active member since then, as a social outreach manager for her chapter for the past 3 years. Her experience in FBLA has been rewarding, placing 1st, 2nd, and 4th in various individual and chapter events at CT SLC and attending two NLC’s. Most recently she attended the 2024 NLC in Orlando Florida after placing 1st in Organizational leadership at the 2024 CT SLC. FBLA has been an incredible opportunity for Olivia to meet other students passionate about business and network with professionals. She’s looking forward to getting to know as many members of Connecticut FBLA as possible in the upcoming FBLA season!
Outside of FBLA, Olivia participates in Science Olympiad, the National Art Honor Society and works at the Farmington Public Library. She enjoys volunteering by being an art mentor and running WealthWiz’, a personal finance education program she co-founded for middle school students. She enjoys trying new foods, learning languages, listening to music, and binge-watching shows with her friends. Olivia looks forward to an exciting FBLA season!
Sankalp Borah is excited to serve as your Connecticut State Treasurer for the 2024 - 2025 FBLA season! Sankalp co-founded the Farmington FBLA and has served as their vice president for the past 2 years. Since then he has competed in many events at the state leadership conference and traveled to nationals in 2023! FBLA has been an incredible experience for him as he has been able to meet other students and lead initiatives to help students network with other professionals as well as give back to their community.
As a senior at Farmington High School, Sankalp participates in his school’s debate and STEM club and plays the violin and piano. He enjoys playing tennis for his school and spending time with his little brother and friends playing basketball and chess.
Sankalp’s drive to help others and his passion for FBLA fuels his motivation to do his best and thrilled to serve for the upcoming FBLA season!
